Godden Allen Lawn has appointed one of the country’s top builders to carry out a high profile residential conversion and extension in west London.
We were engaged by a developer to redesign the fourth storey of a mid-Victorian era town house in Sinclair Road, Shepherd’s Bush, draw up plans for a fifth storey and then provide a full contract administration service to see the job through to completion.
That role included appointing the building company to carry out the work, which involves a complete renovation of the fourth floor, and so we have now engaged well-known develop Sarah Wain to do the work.
Sarah, a former Savile Row manager who left Gieves & Hawkes at the age of 23 to follow her dream of working in construction, achieved fame as the first woman builder to be ranked among Britain’s 10 best tradespeople in a competition run by TrustMark.
She has worked for royalty, restaurateurs, film producers and actors – and now for us here at Godden Allen Lawn.
“This is a high profile London project and we were determined to find a building company that would make a first-class job of seeing through our vision for this impressive building,” said partner Nick Lawn. “Sarah has an impressive track record and we are looking forward to working with her.”
