Tiger, tiger…

Visitors to a new ‘tiger lodge’ planned for Port Lympne Zoo will be relying on Godden Allen Lawn to make sure the glazing is up to the job. The tiger lodge will allow holidaymakers to live on the edge of the big cats’ enclosure, with one wall of the building acting as the part of the fence – and made entirely of glass. “It will be a fantastic experience for visitors,” explained Godden Allen Lawn partner Nick Lawn. “They will […]

Raising the Roof at the Duke of York’s

Staff living and working at a historic Dover school will enjoy warmer and more energy-efficient homes this winter after renovation work being overseen by Godden Allen Lawn. Our team is looking after repair work to two blocks of four staff houses at the Duke of York’s Royal Military School. As well as re-roofing, the project includes upgrading the insulation, repairing lead flashing to the chimneys and replacing the guttering and downpipes at the 1930s-built homes. Helping to tell Folkestone’s story

Folkestone has a stylish new museum within the Town Hall following a £1.95m project that has transformed parts of the listed building. The award we really wanted…

The iconic, multi-award wining Wing building we designed for the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust has picked up two more prestigious awards – and this time we really are celebrating. Although the wing-shaped visitor centre at Capel-le-Ferne has already collected a handful of top prizes, the Kent Design and Development Awards have always been special to us as an architectural consultancy, even more so as they are independent of any magazine or trade group. The awards are bi-annual, which means […]
